6 Things God Will Not Do For You

- Hook: “I’m a Christian, I pray, I sow seed… why is nothing changing?”
- Point: God is not a microfinance bank. He won’t do for you what He empowered you to do.
- Text: Deuteronomy 8:18 – “…it is He that giveth thee power to get wealth…”
The 6 Things God Will NOT Do For You
1. God Does NOT Give You Money/Wealth Directly
God is not a “money doubler”. Sowing seed is not automatic cash back.
Bible: Deuteronomy 8:18 – He gives you POWER to get wealth, not the wealth itself.
Your Part: Apply principles – savings, investment, reinvesting profit, expanding business.
PH Illustration: God won’t drop ₦1M in your room. He’ll give you brain, strength, ideas. You must hustle, save, and invest it.
Application: Stop treating God like ATM. Ask for wisdom + diligence, not just money.
2. God Does NOT Give You Good Health
What he said: Your health reflects what you eat. No prayer can replace sleep, rest, good food.
Bible Principle: Your body is the temple – 1 Corinthians 6:19-20
Your Part: Eat well, rest, see a doctor, follow health tips. “E no get any prayer and fasting wey go do am” if you abuse your body.
PH Illustration: You can’t eat Indomie + coke 3x/day, no sleep, then bind “sickness” on Sunday.
Application: Steward your health. Prayer + discipline = long life.
3. God Does NOT Give You a Peaceful Marriage
What he said: It’s you + your partner that will work it out. Nobody, God no dey give peaceful marriage.
Bible Principle: Ephesians 5:22-33 – Love, submit, understanding.
Your Part: Communication, forgiveness, sacrifice. It’s based on understanding.
PH Illustration: You can’t marry and say “God, make my wife understand me” while you’re shouting and cheating.
Application: Marriage is work. God blessed it, but you must build it.
4. God Does NOT Give You Good Children
What he said: God gives you picking, but YOU train them.
Bible: Proverbs 22:6 KJV – “Train up a child in the way he should go…”
Your Part: Discipline, teaching, example. A child you fail to train = your nightmare tomorrow.
PH Illustration: God gave you the pikin, but if you leave him with housemaid + TV, don’t blame God when he joins gang.
Application: Parenting is your assignment, not God’s.
5. God Does NOT Prove He Knows Your Personal Info for You to Believe Prophecy
What he said: “Your phone number is 080…” is not needed. If God gives you a word, you must know.
Bible: John 10:27 KJV – “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them…”
Your Part: Develop discernment. A fake Christian encounters a fake pastor.
PH Illustration: If your father calls you, you’ll know it’s him. Same with God’s voice.
Application: If a “prophet” must tell you your shoe color before you believe, you don’t know God’s voice yet.
6. God Does NOT Give Any Nation Good Governance or Good Leaders
What he said: No matter how prayerful. Nigeria is #3 in Christians after US & Brazil, yet see our govt.
Bible: Proverbs 29:2 KJV – “When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice…”
Your Part: It’s the people with Voter’s Card that will decide. Vote a righteous leader.
PH Illustration: We fast 365 days but sell our vote for ₦2k. God won’t do it for us.
Application: Prayer + PVC = Responsibility. God gives you the power to choose.
Conclusion: God Gives Power, You Apply It
- Recap: God will not be your ATM, your doctor, your marriage counselor, your nanny, your prophet’s script, or INEC.
- Challenge: Stop waiting for God to do what He already gave you power to do.
- Altar Call: Take responsibility today. Sow + Save. Eat well + Rest. Love your spouse. Train your children. Know God’s voice. Vote right.
Final Word: God is not transactional. He’s a Father who equips, not a magician who spoils.
